It surprises me that Birmingham AL has so many extraordinary bookstores, but that reveals my absurd prejudice. I should talk. I live in Nevada. Even though I live just south of Reno, and there are a lot of artists and writers hiding in the desert, there is a dirth of bookstores. And they are usually the corporate "big boxes" like Borders and Barnes and Nobles. So, Birmingham is indeed a magical place where bookstores thrives, including the one with all the boxes of books lining the aisles because the shelves are crammed full. WOW! Thank you for this delightful tour.
Thank you, Sue. That bookstore is amazing and Birmingham is an underrated gem these days. I love the Southwest and the desert, especially the Santa Fe and Taos areas. The strongest winds I've ever experienced were in Taos. Just a raw, beautiful part of the country.
